Monday has arrived.

Today, it's raining and gloomy. It was overcast and wet yesterday also. There aren't many people flying out this week. I guess the price of gas and the pending heating-fuel buying season is causing people to rethink their summer travels. I saw on the news how some towns in the midwest are instituting bike-rental programs for people. 'Bout time! People can get healthy and save money at the same time. Yay! Time to get off our asses, huh? Quit giving our hard-earned money to these fuel companies, who are making scandalous profits and going on all-expense paid trips to the Caribbean with their families and friends.

Just venting.

Thursday, again.

Today, I went to Goodwill with a bunch of stuff and ended up bringing a bunch of stuff home which is defeating the whole purpose of me going there in the first place. There's always something interesting there that gets my attention. I've noticed that I've unloaded quite a bit of stuff and still have more to go. I organized a closet and threw out some old junk I didn't want to bother with anymore.

Tomorrow, I go back to work and it's getting hotter every day. Today, it's about 80+ with no end to the rising temps in sight. Gasoline is $4.12 per gallon and it keeps fluctuating. Those people who work at the filling stations must have whiplash from going out and changing the signs every other friggen day!

Day off....hmmmm...

Today's my day off, but I have a chance to get a little OT from 4-6 pm. It's a couple hours work for a couple hundred bucks, can't beat that! Besides, I don't have anything else to do. I've actually had OT the past three days. Delayed flights, due to weather conditions in New Jersey and Boston are helping my bank account nicely.

Anywho, I'm off to Wally-world for a shirt to wear today, I don't have to be in uniform, which is good, uniforms are polyester and have no breathing room. Wish they'd turn the air conditioner on!

I love OT!!

I worked with Kim in Bar Harbor, today. What's great is that we don't have to use our own cars, we get a government vehicle for travel. It's not very busy there. We got there around 11:25 am and we did two screenings, one at 1:00 and the other at 5:25 pm. We left at 6:00 and arrived back at our airport at 7:15 pm, which means we got 45 minutes OT! That, added to the 3.5 hours yesterday and the 2.5 hours from last Sunday when we worked in Portland. NICE!
Sherry called me after work and asked if I wanted to meet her at the Chinese restaurant for buffett. I did and we over ate, as usual. I brought some plastic baggies with me and we brought home leftovers. (hehehehe)
I got home and called my kid. He just wanted to tell me how he's doing and ask a couple questions about the car. Now, I'm sitting here typing, when I should be going to bed. I can't go to bed with this food on my stomach! Yuck!

Simple pleasures.

Today, I did 3.5 hours overtime at work and came home. I took a short nap because I was still a little tired from last night. My friend, Sherry, and I went to see "Sex in the City" which was sooo good! I have the whole series, except for season six, on DVD.
I did some laundry and went to Wal-Mart to pick up a longer phone cord and a plate rack for my cupboard to open up a little extra space in there for other dishes.

The peonies are blooming outside my kitchen door and they are so beautiful and fragrant. I LOVE them! I picked a great-big one, which is a lovely shade of pink, and have it on my new glass-top stove. It makes me smile every time I look at it and smell it as I walk by. That's my simple pleasure.

Cooler Temps finally!

Today, it is cooler! It rained last night and the temperature is down this morning. It's still sprinkling a little but what a difference. Today and tomorrow are my days off and I plan to take advantage of them and get out of the house and run errands, even with the f'n ridiculous gas prices!

Oh, It should relieve everyone to know that the executives of the fuel companies and their FAMLIES were sent on an all-expense-paid trip to an unnamed destination for a week! Isn't it great that we can pay for things like that?!

Turn on the air conditioning already!

Today at work, it was sooo hot! They haven't turned on the air conditioning yet and people are melting! Passengers were complaining and WE were so hot it was hard to do our job. I'm hoping to sweat off about 15-20 pounds this summer. At the rate it's going at this early date, I'll have that off in another week. IF ONLY!

Tonight I went shopping and spent too much money on stuff I don't need. What's new, I do that on a weekly basis. I think I need more to do. hmmm...

We're having a heat wave...

We're experiencing a heat wave here, Saturday and Sunday. I worked in Portland. Saturday, the temperature was in the 80's and the day went fast because the airport was very busy. Sunday, the temperature was in the high 80's when we were driving to the airport but by the time we arrived it was already in the 90's and progressed during the day. Everyone was so hot and we were working steady all day. I don't think I'll volunteer for Portland again. Not during the hot months anyway. I can't stand it when it's this hot.

I got volunteered!

Today, our SM came around and asked several of us if we'd like to work in Portland on Saturday and Sunday. I said I would, because there was 2.5 hours per day of OT. I've never worked in that airport before but it should be interesting. I know two people there who I went to training with in Boston. I wonder if they'll remember me. hmm...
