I gave in...

...and finally bought some of the shoes I said I'd never wear. I went shopping with my friend, Linda, today and we bought ourselves a pair of Crocs. In case you don't know what Crocs are, they are very soft and comfortable clog shoes. Everyone is wearing them from little kids to grown ups. I reasoned with myself that I need them because I'm on my feet so much. They come in so many different colors but today I bought black. I like wearing black pants and have needed a pair of comfort shoes. You have to try them if you haven't already.

FREE Coffee @ Rite Aid!

Today is the last day you can get a big can of FREE coffee at Rite Aid. The big can of Maxwell House coffee is on sale from $10.99 to $5.99 and if you get the $6.00 off coupon from the coupon book (that ends today) you get it for FREE! I have a couple cans myself, won't say how many though. I have to have coffee. You better hurry and they will substitute if they are out of Maxwell House.

Thursday

I have the day off today. I had a piece of whole-grain toast with peanut butter and a cup of green tea for breakfast. I folded some clothes that I had hanging on the clothesline. I vacuumed yet another canister of dog hair and cleaned up around the kitchen. The lawn guy is doing the mowing today so I've been listening to all those sounds but other than that, it's very peaceful. It's nice and sunny outside. I'm going to relax today and just veg out.

Dr. Phil is talking about women and children who are recruited and born into cults. Some days the show isn't that great, but usually there's something of interest. I really enjoy his Weight Loss Challenges. Yeah, I'm down with those! :)

I wish I knew what happened to a previous guest named Joelle. She was the 600+ pound woman who Dr. Phil started helping and then I never saw her again. Oh well, there was probably a follow up show but some of us have to work, dammit!

Encouraging Words...

I just want to thank everyone for their words of encouragement since I've been dieting. You all know who you are. It really helps to hear someone else say how well they think you're doing or that they've actually noticed a change in appearance. I really like hearing everything. I've noticed changes in my clothing and I can't wait to go buy a new wardrobe.

Hair, hair, everywhere!!

I can't believe how much hair this dog has! I've brushed her until I thought she couldn't stand it anymore. I've vacuumed up countless containers of hair. I've swept and scooped up flying hairs that seem to be floating around the house and get into corners and under the appliances. I have to carry a fuzz brush around with me everywhere I go because I'm always finding white hairs on my pants. It's crazy. When is it going to end?!

I told her that she has it too good around here and she better find a new home if she doesn't stop losing her hair. As always, she looks at me, picks up her baby (toy elephant) and turns away. We've been having this one-sided conversation for seven years.

Muggy today...

...but at least it isn't raining. We've had so many thunder storms this year that I've lost count. I have to go to work today and probably won't be home until around 9:30 but I won't be working tomorrow.

My friend, Sherry is coming for a visit on Monday. We've been friends for over 20 years! It will be good to see her. We haven't seen one another since last year when my mother died, so it will be a catch-up visit for sure.

Lazy day.

Today is a rainy day here in northern Maine. I should be cleaning the house but I have no motivation to do so. I did laundry, scrapped a little and made a homemade hamburg, mushroom and pepperoni pizza for supper. I've quit drinking diet Coke and it has to be like quitting smoking because I'm craving one... or three really badly. Since I've quit drinking it, which is three weeks now, I've lost 7 pounds! Not too shabby but I really, really want one right now. I'm resisting the urge to go to the store and buy just one can of ice cold DC. hmmmm......

Should dogs wear clothes??

I just wanted to share some cute pictures that were sitting undeveloped in my kitchen drawer for the past year. They are of Simba, of course. He is so cute, isn't he? He's wearing his little leather jacket which is a perfect fit. I'm pretty sure he isn't into the whole "fashion show" at all but he's a trooper! This is part of a scrapbook page from his book. I have a small picture-sized scanner so I couldn't scan the whole page.
And here he is in his Halloween costume last year. In case you can't tell, he was a bat! Soooo cute. :)

I hate taking tests...

...but I took a test today, which was quite challenging. By the time i returned home, about 30 minutes later, there was an e-mail waiting for me telling me I passed! Yeah! Now I'll have to take a second set of tests before possibly being hired. Tell ya all about it in the coming weeks. Later :)

Finally fixed!

I finally have my computer back after a whole month! I really can't stand being without it and can't believe how dependent I've become on it. I'm such a slave to technology!

Has everyone been watching Rockstar: Supernova? I'm really enjoying it. Love, love, love that show! I have a feeling that Magni will be going with the band, but I sure hope they consider a female because Dilana would be fantastic! I hope she puts out an album because I'll be buying!
Rockstar INXS was great too and I knew J.D. was going to win from the beginning. The Supernova guys have the same attitude about Magni that INXS had about J.D. We shall see.
